Alejandro Pintado
Mexico City, 1973

 

He studied the Bachelor of Painting at the National School of Painting Sculpture and Engraving the Emerald and Master of Fine Arts at Goldsmiths College, University of London. He has been awarded several international and national awards such as the Scholarship of the Pollock Krasner Foundation in New York (2007) and the special prize of Arte Laguna in Venice, Italy (2010). He is a Fellow of the National System of Creators of the Fonca. His work has been presented both in galleries and museums in America and Europe, among which are: Incision to Romanticism, National Museum of San Carlos, Mexico City, Contemplation of modernism, Sonora Art Museum (2012 Mexico), The Planning of Randomness, Post-Box Gallery, (2010 London), Views from Romanticism, Arróniz Gallery Contemporary Art (2010, Mexico City), Landscape interventions, Moscow Museum of Modern Art (2008 Moscow), Tamayo Biennial, Museum Tamayo (2007 Mexico City), Declarations, National Museum of Art Reina Sofia, (2005 Madrid), XI Biennial of Photography, Center of the Image, (2005 Mexico City). In 2011 he was invited by the curator Pablo León de la Barra to participate in the Art Projects of the fair Pinta in the city of London. His last solo exhibition with the title Trajectory of knowledge is exhibited in the National Museum of Art as part of the celebrations of the National homage to José María Velasco. At the end of the year he will present his individual exhibition Measuring the void at the Drexel Gallery.
